Carrots can be introduced from 4 months and up. This is a very versatile vegetable and can be mixed with other fruit puree.
Some parents are afraid that carrots contain nitrates but these dissolve if properly washed and cooked. Can you choose the baby carrots? These small carrots have been put in a chlorine solution so you have to skip this.
Ingredient Selection Tips:
- Select firm carrots with color deep orange. Ensure that it is crisp.
- Select the ones with little flower stalks on top.
- Look also for the “hairs” on the side that grows as it indicates of its maturity.
- You can choose the small carrots (not necessarily the baby carrots) and choose organic where possible.

|Nutrient Content||It is very high in beta-carotene (carotenoid) and can be converted in Vitamin A to better eyesight. Aside from Vitamin A, it also contains Vitamin C and a good source of Calcium. Just a medium-sized carrot will produce about three to four ounces puree.|
