Green beans are crunchy and grainy. This is recommended to introduce at 5-8 months of age. And it is also easy to grow so if you can have it organically, even better. There are two kinds of green beans varieties like the bush or pole. They comess in different colors too – purple, yellow and the most common one is green.
Green beans can be pureed or it can also be steamed and be used as baby’s finger foods when they are already 8 months till 1 year old.
Ingredient Selection Tips:
- Choose the fresh ones of course and never buy the canned green beans.
- Go to the local market, choose the firm ones. If it is fresh, it can last for a week in the veggie tray.
- My childhood memory is picking those green beans in our backyard garden and it is a great seeing those on your plate. So if you have a toddler, let them experience garden picking.
