Guavas are tropical fruit and it surely adds flavor and color to any dessert or smoothies. Turning this edible and vitamin-rich fruit into puree will make its flavors come out. There are different varieties and colors for the guavas, from pink, green to pure white.
Ingredient Selection Tips:
- Select the medium sized ones. If you want to have fresh guava puree, choose several almost ripe ones and add still unripe ones.
- Select the firm ones. If you can have the organic ones, even better.
- The thickness and color of its of its skin varies depending on the variety. It may change into green, yellow or red/ maroon to show it is already ripe.
- Known varieties are called as “common guava”, “apple guava” and “lemon guava”. It is usually available during summer so best to have it pureed or turned into paste and jam jelly to be preserved.
