Quinoa, or “keen wah” was first discovered by the Incas. It has been called by the Incas as “Mother Grain” but actually it is a seed. They have believed that 5,000 years ago this seed ensures good health and makes their life longer. You can introduce it to your baby 6 months and up.
Ingredient Selection Tip
- Though quinoas are not known to collect pesticide residue it would still be best for you to select the organically grown ones. The good news is, most of those sold in the grocery are organic.
- They are available whole or in flakes. There are also available quinoa flour but better take the whole one so that you will be able to make that quinoa cereal.
- Do not buy too much, just enough to last a month or two as it is can easily turn rancid.
